  • Fun Facts

    1) When I grew up I wanted to be a rock-star, or an otter.

    2) I started smoking because of a girl. I stopped because of a girl. Not the same girl.

    3) During my year at CalArts I was indoctrinated into Zulu Nation (of A Tribe Called Quest fame). It was the only period of my life where I refrained from eating pork. This lasted two months, tops.

    4) I have the feet of a hobbit.

    5) Charlene deGuzman saved my musical life.

    6) From what I can gather, fame is an empty experience. I still want to be famous.

    7) When your friend drinks too much at the bar, knocks over a bunch of glasses and pukes on the floor, I'm the guy who cleans it up.

    8) In the tenth grade I wrote a song for my band about a guy who has his ass surgically enhanced. This is the only song I have ever written and performed in front of an audience. It was a rap.

    9) One of my greatest fears is not realizing "my potential." A mediocre life is terrifying to me.

    10) In the last twelve years I've performed in over 200 cities around the world, for over 2 million people. There are still people I have known almost my whole life however, that have never seen me perform.

    11) As of late I've become increasingly afraid of being involved in a plane crash. Goddamned little planes.

    12) I won an award I didn't feel I deserved. Nevertheless, it's nice to be told you're outstanding.

    13) If I could have three wishes, they would be to have a beautiful singing voice, to speak all languages, and to fly. In that order. A close fourth would be to have Jackie Chan's skills.

    14) Witnessing my friends' evolution, blows me away.

    15)  I've started seven journals, and haven't filled all the pages of any of them.

    16) I love the cello.

    17) We had cable and HBO for like a week when they were first available. My dad taped like 10 movies* that week on our then new vcr. These would be the films I'd watch over and over all through my adolescence. It's anyone's guess how much these "classics" screwed me up.

    18) As a kid we celebrated christmas every year at my mom's parents house. That was the Jewish side of my family.

    19) My dad's father was a New York state supreme court justice. And a republican. After he died his wife was arrested over 50 times demonstrating for liberal causes.

    20) I sweat in my sleep, like to cuddle, twitch violently when I'm tired, pick my nose, fart in public, am a know-it-all, a poor speller, a loud breather, a jay-walker, easily distracted, vain, and addicted to coffee.

    21) My relationship with my sister gets better every year. She's awesome.

    22) Y'all are a hardworking and talented bunch of folks. I am inspired and unworthy.

    23) Although I enjoy a nap, I get very restless. I prefer to be active. My friend Spock would say, I like the kinesis.

    24) Sometimes during a lull in conversation my cousin Chris will lean back in his chair and muse, "remember when it was 'just Miles'."

    25) I really hate being misunderstood. It's why I talk so much. I am really working on improving my economy of words though. Some other things I work on every day: my posture, punctuality, knowing when to take my leave, and when to stop talking.

  • Celebrity Center?

The snot nose nerds that used to play space rangers, and do "experiments" on each other in their fort out back, got a hold of their mom's self help book, and started charging the other kids to join their club.

    Scientologists, we see you.
